How do I turn a landscape video into a vertical 9:16 video?
Upload the video, choose 9:16 and pick a mode. Crop fills the vertical frame and lets you drag to choose which part of the picture to keep. Fit keeps the whole picture and places it on a blurred copy of the video, so nothing is cut off.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The video is processed by your browser on your own device, so it stays private.
What size is the finished video?
The standard option uses the sizes social platforms expect, such as 1080×1920 for 9:16, 1080×1080 for 1:1 and 1080×1350 for 4:5. The smaller option uses 720p for quicker processing and smaller files.
Can I choose which part of the video to keep?
Yes. In Crop mode, drag the frame over the preview or use the slider below it, which also works with the arrow keys. The same position is used for the whole video.
Does it keep the sound?
Yes. The audio is kept and stays in sync with the picture.
Will it fix a sideways phone video?
Yes. Phone videos are turned upright using their rotation information before they are cropped. To rotate a video without changing its shape, use the Video Rotate tool.
